From Tracy Bowerman:
Hey all,

A lot of people don't know it, but this year, grooming Green Canyon has been done on a completely voluntary basis, a task which is being organized by Nordic United.  Along with grooming Green, NU holds cross-country ski lessons for kids, teaches skating clinics (although maybe not this year), and works on non-motorized public lands issues, including attempting to improve winter parking at trailheads up Logan canyon.

If you use these resources and/or think they sound important, please come to the annual NU fundraiser next Tuesday.  Details follow.  And if you can't make it Tuesday, but appreciate having Green Canyon groomed, please go to the website and become a member or make a small donation:  http://www.nordicunited.org/

I'm also looking for a couple of energetic folks to help me sell raffle tickets at the event.  Please let me know if you can help (just show up 15 minutes before the event), and please feel free to pass this message along to other non-motorized winter sports enthusiasts.

Thanks,
Tracy

Hello Nordic United,

Our annual FUNdraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, 25 January 2011, 6:30pm at The Logan Art House and Cinema at

795 N. Main in Logan.   Please see the attached poster.

Admission is only $10 for adults with special deals for members and free for kids under 12.

The highlight of this event is the showing of the Winter Wildlands Alliance Backcountry Film Festival.   For details, see http://www.backcountryfilmfestival.org/bcff/index.php

This event will give you a chance to renew your membership in NU, enjoy some snacks and refreshments, reconnect with friends, learn what NU is doing this year, and see some great films (featuring local talent!)

If you would like to donate auction items to help raise money, please contact Sammie Macfarlane (sammiemac@gmail.com) or Gary Thiede (gary.thiede@usu.edu).

Thank you for your support.  See you at the event.
