1D HEC-RAS Simulations

In this lab, you will learn how to build a simple HEC-RAS model to look at a range of steady state discharges in Silver Creek, a small stream near Park City. Some background information on Silver Creek is here. The instructions for the lab are here.

On the Open Topography website, there is a workshop that was run by Noah Finnegan, that provides a very nice excercise using HEC-GeoRAS and airborne LiDaR to create a HEC-RAS model (you'll need ArcGIS 9.3.x for HecGeoRAS to work

4B. 1D open channel flows on lidar data using HecRAS and HEC-GeoRAS

Description: This workshop will present the basics of (1) generating input files from lidar data for use with the 1D hydraulic modeling package HEC-RAS, and (2) performing simple lidar-based open channel flow calculations in HEC-RAS.
